What's a good anti-aging supplement/food? My grandma is 78 and looks 58! She's taking a variety of supplements religiously. Just wondering if there's anything anyone can recommend that has kept them youthful, energetic, and with GLOWING SKIN, like my grandmother. I know there are the goji berry drinks and such things. And of course the raw foods way of eating. What are your thoughts? What do you live by/take/eat religiously? Thanks :)
What are the best anti aging supplements.? I recently heard news that alpha lipoic acid is a great anti-aging supplement. I have also heard reports about a new supplement called resveratrol that has been found to dramatically increase the lifespan in yeast cells. Although going from increasing the lifespan in yeast cells to increasing it in humans is a huge jump can you give me any advice on supplements that have been proven to extend the human lifespan besides basic anti-oxidants.

I need anti aging supplements. Where can I find some? I need anti aging supplements for my skin. I am in my early 40s and its looks like old age is beginning to wear its ugly head in my life. So I thought of using anti aging supplements to slow down my aging but I am having problems finding anti aging supplements. Please, I would be glad if someone can tell me where to get one.
Anti-Aging Supplements? I was wondering if anyone of you have tried the supplements from Life Extension (http://www.lef.org). I'm interested in beginning alpha lipoic acid and coenzyme q supplements. If you haven't heard about Life Extension, what other supplement brands are good? What other supplements (in addition to eating a balanced diet and exercise) do you take? Thanks :) I am aware that aging is a natural and inevitable process. I am a nurse for crying out loud! lol... Thank you for your answer :)
What is the best supplement to take for anti aging? Hi I have just started taking Aloe Vera in liquid form and I am also taking Omega oils. My diet is inclusive of 5 portions of fruit and veg a day, and I also eat lots of oily fish. Just wondering if these were fine to slow down aging or if there is something better I could be taking? Thank you in advance! I hope you can help!
Anti Aging? What are your three best tips for feeling good and staying young.. foods, supplements etc..
anti aging? hello. i am gettin gup there, about to turn 45. i hate looking at old people with those big, droopy ears and noses. what can be done to prevent this? is there any supplements? thankyou!
What are good natural supplements for overall health and anti-aging that are available at wholefoods/drugstore? I am 26 years old and currently take:2000mg primrose oil, psyllium husk, bromelain. What other supplements should I incorporate into my regimine to target anti-aging, metabolism, etc? What are some good anti-oxidents that are not too costly, available at whole foods store and that do not give the 'jitters'? We are a health concious family and do what we can with a busy schedule. We also walk 2-4 miles 4 times a week and I work out. What should I add? Considered the NanoPak from Nuskin but it seems very over-priced and not exactly natural. Thanks! :)
ENORMOUS DREAD of parents aging...WHY DO I DO THIS TO MY PARENTS? (I am an adult).? I am 26 years old and was raised mostly by my dad. I saw my mom once a year for two months and now I live 1500 away from them (they live in different states). I dearly love both of them but I really hurt my parents feelings because: I never get to see them and didn't for most of my life but love them more than anything. They are my ONLY family - just my mom and my dad. It is shocking to me to watch them age. My mom is 55 and my dad is 67. My mom is married to a man in his 70s and I have noticed that over the years, she has mentally assumed his age, even though her husband is 20 years older than herself. She acted like she was 60 when she was 40 and now that she is 55 she acts like she's also in her 70s. My dad acts younger than his age but it is still really hard for me to see them age. Every time I see my mom with her hair in the "old white lady afro-type" hair-do, it bugs me because it makes her look like she's so old. So, I tell her that (I am bluntly honest - I realize this is no longer the way to communicate with my mom but it is the way I prefer to be communicated with so i assumed she would prefer it too). At the same time, I offered to take her to the salon and get her a makeover and pay for a new hair do. So we went and she came out looking like she was 30 again - my mom is really hot when she tries. She looked so goregous - of course I told her that and gave her tons of compliments - as did like 5 random people that day. She looked so young and full of life. This year (I still SADLY only get to see her once or twice a year), she had totally let herself go again and was looking like her husband's age. So again i offered to take her to the salon and she adamantly refused and did not put one ounce into "getting ready" the entire time I was there. She really looked awful and it was sad. What bothers me the most, more than seeing the physical aspect of her aging, is the mental effect - my mom is totally mentally convinced that she is in her seventies (although she admits she is only 55). I at least want her to act and feel young; be active, maybe go to a "silver sneakers" class - workout class for 50+, or even start going to a card or movie club with her friends. It really bothers her when I try to change her (I know they say you aren't supposed to do this). I also do this to my dad - I buy him cologne that the young guys wear, I get him supplements that are anti-aging supplements, etc...anything to help mom and dad look and feel young. I realize that this hurts their feelings but I do not mean for it too. I think the reason it bothers me so much to see my parents age is because it subconsciouly reminds me that they are my only family and that when they are gone, I will be all alone in this world and won't have them. My mom and dad are all I've got. Additionally, my mom's husband had numerous serious and debilitating health conditions that are slowly and miserably killing him and I associate those partly with his age. I NEVER EVER want either my mom or dad to go through that kind of misery and demise. My thinking, is that I try so hard to make my parents seems young for these reasons. Is this normal? I think it is somewhat selfish but how is a person supposed to handle seeing their parents age. I don't get to see them often so when I do the changes are very dramatic. (All of a sudden mom walks with a cane, all of a sudden, dad's hair is comletely white)... I think I should just stop trying to change them, I guess they don't appreciate it - (someone helped me make a major change in my life and I am a much happier, healthy person now because of it so I don't think it is always a bad thing to want to help someone change for the better). What is your take on this? Is it normal to absolutely dread the thought of your parents getting older? How can I accept this and deal with it? Thank you!!!
Skin care and anti aging techniques? i was wondering what are some great tools to help you keep your skin young and beautiful. preferably affordale and non invasive. Im talking supplements, creams, washes, anything and everything! the more, the better!
What supplements should I take for anti-aging? My biggest goal in life is to just live as long as possible. I've already started drinking almost only water and exercising daily, as well as eating fruits and vegetables much more often. What supplements (like antioxidants, whatever) would be best to put off death as long as possible? :) I'm 19 now, by the way. Live "as long as possible". Of course I'm going to die (though if age-stopping technology is developed during my life, that's cool too.) And I won't really mind outliving my friends/family, or at least I don't think so now.
Best Vitamins for middle age men anti aging.Age 48? I am a 48 year old man in good health that is interested in your opinion concerning vitamins. Anti-aging suggestions? So I take really good care of myself, exercise, eat healthy, sunscreen, supplements. I would like more suggestions on keeping skin as young, tight, and glowing as possible.
Is there a website that build a daily pack with the supplements and vitamins I want. name brands? I'm looking for a site that uses name brand supplements and vitamins to build these packs. I'm very interested in anti aging products so if they have lines such as LIfe Extensions and Solaray that would be great. I also like food based supplements so lines such as New Chapter Organics and Rainbow Light would be great. I can't be the only person who takes a lot of nutritional supplements and vitamins and is looking for a better way than using a vitamin dispenser. It just makes sense that there is a web site out there that lets you build perosnlized daily supplement packs from the same supplements and vitamins you can find in a great health food store but get them packaged into daily vitamin packs instead of all the bottles. I konw there are a lot people who focus on antiaging, longevity and alternative medicine that would want a service like this so I'm sure one exists. If one exists, I would love to know about it. Someone just told me about a site where I can suppelements... thats not what I'm looking for. I'm looking for a web site that will build a custom pack of supplements with what I want in it.
Premature aging - creams to prevent? My skin is prone to damage. I'm 22 and I already see fine lines appearing around my mouth and eyes. My mother said that it happened to her around my age too. I was wondering what the best anti-aging face cream would be to use as a preventative against aging? I already drink pleanty of water and take vitamin supplements and now I'm looking for a really good cream/moisturizer. Any suggestions of creams that really do work as a preventative?
can your skin regenerate collegen and elastin if you are a young age? I am still a teenager but I have abused my skin in the past, sun-overexposure and 2 years of smoking. I was wondering, if my skin can repair most of the damage on it's own? I take really good care of my skin now High-end sunscreen with no more smoking.Plus regulary exfoliating and taking herbal/vitamin supplements. Does my skin have the ability to regenerate and heal on it's own, without the use of anti-aging products to keep me from premature signs of aging? My skin has no visable signs of damage. So by taking excellent care of my skin NOW and being so young, do I still have to suffer 10-15 years from now?
Arbonne International is wonderful, you? Has anyone here tried Arbonne facial cleansing products, anti- aging, make up, supplements, aromatherapy or baby care? All I can say is Wow! These products are as chemical and proservitive (sp) free as aloud by the Fda. This is why I purchased them. To my suprise, they really work! I was just wondering if anyone else here has tried any Arbonne products, and what your experience has been? So far, I have tried the make up line, the protein and the fiber shakes, and the aromatherapy. I am very pleased, but am anxious to hear others experiences before purchasing any other products! Thanks all!
Have you tried Resveratrol? Pill or Liquid? It is an anti-aging anti-obesity pro long life supplement touted by Dr. Oz on the Oprah show. It comes in liquid and pill form. Anyone try it long term and did you see benefits? There are an awful lot of free offers with Oprah and Dr. Phil and Barbara Walter's face on the ad but the problem is they keep sending you more Resveratrol unless you cancel and who knows they will accept your cancellation? I prefer CVS (liquid)or Walgreens (capsule) which carries it in my area.

Resveratrol Supplements - Do they really work? I see all of these ads for Resveratrol Supplements and I've read how Barbara Walters was convinced that Resveratrol works and that even Oprah endorsed it. Does it really work for anti-aging?

How can I counter diarrhea in a 5-year old from AMOXICILLIN-POT CLAVULANATE? This is an antibiotic for ear infections. My son is on day 3 of 10 of this stuff and already has mild diarrhea. Dr says to finish the medication and does not have any advice other than giving yogurt, which I do, but it doesn't help. The symptoms of ear infection are gone. Are there any pro-biotic supplements or anti-diarrheal treatment safe for 5-year old kids? Note that my son is big for his age, he weighs 52lb. Thanks!
Can HGH supplements help with wrinkles? I have seen alot of HGH products being touted for their anti aging benefits, but I want to know if any HGH products actually help with appearance. I have plenty of energy, but i would like to do something about my wrinkles that doesn't involve surgery, would a good HGH product help?
Health benefits of silica and fish oil supplements? My friend recommended silica and cod liver oil supplements to help clear up my complexion, and make my skin more even toned (I always do natural treatments, never chemical filled goop from the drugstore). I have never had acne before (I'm 20), but all of a sudden, it's come up for no reason, and I'd like for it to quickly go away. But anyways, while researching on the internet, I found that silica and cod liver oil have other health benefits too, like anti-aging properties and help with concentration. Does anyone have any personal experiences with other benefits from either of the supplement they'd like to share? Also, about how long until I start noticing a difference (I know it won't happen overnight, but I've heard of supplements working within weeks, and others that take months)???? Thanks :-)
Am i wasting my time with these vitamins? best answer 10 points? I take One A Day Womens Multi vitamin/ multi mineral supplement i take it every day once (obviously) are these good vitamins? or am i just wasting my money and time if i'm concerned mostly about good skin, hair, and anti-aging? if these aren't good what would be my best most affect vitamin for my needs? thanks! Here are the supplement facts. this goes by amount per serving and the percentages are the daily value. Taking silicon and fish oil for skin/nails/hair? I have been breaking out and noticed my skin hasn't seemed as evenly toned lately. I already eat a very healthy diet, drink lots of water and exercise frequently. So it was recommended to me to check my multivitamin for silicon (which it didn't contain), and since it didn't contain silicon to start taking it as a liquid supplement along with cod liver oil for healthier skin. I was just wondering if anyone else who is taking this supplement could tell me how long it will take to notice results? I also found it could help with thinning hair and nails, not to mention the anti-aging properties, which my mom has been complaining about. So should I recommend taking silicon and cod liver oil to her too for her nails and hair (and wrinkles lol)? And also any other health benefits of taking this combination would be appriciated too :-) Both the silicon and cod liver oil are liquid supplements. I already take a multivitamin, which is why I am not taking a hair/skin/nails supplement in pill form, it contains vitamins too. I don't want to take extremely high concentrations of vitamins. Actually, and I feel quite silly, it's silica I'm taking not silicon. I guess I'm just used to hearing silicon not silica.
EU to set max vitamin/mineral dosages to indaquate RDA levels? The European Union is currently working to set maximum levels for vitamin and mineral supplements on sale in Ireland and throughout the EU. The Irish Government has proposed these should be no higher than RDA levels. Food supplements have a safety record which is second to none and far surpasses that of food itself. The RDA is an outdated theory(1940s) and does not reflect current research. The optimum daily allowance (ODA) represents a new reference level beyond the RDA, which many researchers in anti-aging believe to have disease preventive effects. Antioxidants - all hype? I am getting caught up in the whole ORAC measurements and antioxidant's anti-aging power. I am drinking more green tea and eating more cranberries and goji berries, and daily vitamin E supplements. I feel good about my better dieting but can't help but think if antioxidants are all hype. What makes one antioxidant different from others? For instance, if vitamin C is an antioxidant, why can't I just drink more Hi-C (ignoring the high sugar content) to get my antioxidants? Should I just ignore claims from foods that say antioxidants are super cool and just focus more on other aspects of the food???
at 20 years old, would taking HGH be a bad idea? ? I'm a 20 year old athlete with a lean body and I'm looking to gain weight. i've been looking up info on HGH (the oral supplements- not the injections) but all the info is about anti-aging benefits. if i start taking HGH at my age, could my body get use to the additional HGH intake and slow down or even stop producing its own naturally? i don't want to see any negative side effects from taking it too soon in life. I'm really interested in HGH because, unlike protein and creatine, HGH can actually increase the number of muscle cells, not just make them bigger mostly through water weight that disappears after a couple weeks of not taking the supplements. thanks for any info!

Why in Malaysia the doctor don't allow us to take vitamin and supplement? What do you thinks about this? What are vitamins? Vitamins are substances that your body needs to work properly and keep you in good health. Most vitamins cannot be made by the body, so they have to be provided by your diet in small regular amounts.1 Why do I need vitamins? Your body uses vitamins to do a number of things, including building and maintaining tissues and organs. Vitamins provide energy, boost the immune system, keep skin healthy and help keep the brain and nervous system in good working order.2 Improve Overall Joint Health Without Using Pain Killers Reduces joint pain • Relieve pain caused by inflammation commonly arising from arthritis, joint injuries and everyday aches and pains Reduces inflammation and swelling • Uses potent, natural anti-inflammatory ingredients to reduce swelling Improves mobility • Improves blood circulation and reduces inflammation leading to increased mobility • Nourishes joints and speeds healing Safer for your liver, kidneys and stomach • A safe and effective alternative to traditional pain medications • Uses Boswellia - an herb with pain reducing benefits - as a safe and effective alternative to NSAIDs (Ibuprofen, aspirin and naproxen) Buy Motion for your joint and muscle pain and inflammation .............................................................................................. DRUGS are chemicals that can prevent, prolong the life, treat other effects of a health condition, improve the quality of life, and/or cure ailments and diseases, or alter the function of any part or chemicals inside the body. These drugs have approved therapeutic claims. Drug Side Effects A side effect is usually regarded as an undesirable secondary effect which occurs in addition to the desired therapeutic effect of a drug or medication. Side effects may vary for each individual depending on the person's disease state, age, weight, gender, ethnicity and general health. Side effects can occur when commencing, decreasing/increasing dosages, or ending a drug or medication regimen. Side effects may also lead to non-compliance with prescribed treatment.Medication A medication or medicine is a drug taken to cure and/or ameliorate any symptoms of an illness or medical condition, or may be used as preventive medicine that has future benefits but does not treat any existing or pre-existing diseases or symptoms. (Redirected from Adverse effect (medicine)) In medicine, an adverse effect is a harmful and undesired effect resulting from a medication or other intervention such as surgery. An adverse effect may be termed a "side effect", when judged to be secondary to a main or therapeutic effect, and may result from an unsuitable or incorrect dosage or procedure, which could be due to medical error. Adverse effects are sometimes referred to as "iatrogenic" because they are generated by a physician/treatment. Some adverse effects only occur only when starting, increasing or discontinuing a treatment. Using a drug or other medical intervention which is contraindicated may increase the risk of adverse effects. Adverse effects may cause medical complications of a disease or procedure and negatively affect its prognosis. They may also lead to non-compliance with a treatment regimen. The harmful outcome is usually indicated by some result such as morbidity, mortality, alteration in body weight, levels of enzymes, loss of function, or as a pathological change detected at the microscopic, macroscopic or physiological level. It may also be indicated by symptoms reported by a patient. Adverse effects may cause a reversible or irreversible change, including an increase or decrease in the susceptibility of the individual to other chemicals, foods, or procedures, such as drug interactions. ................................................................................................... Chemotherapy The overall impact of chemotherapy on cancer survival can be difficult to estimate, since improved cancer screening, prevention (e.g. anti-smoking campaigns), and detection all influence statistics on cancer incidence and mortality. In the United States, overall cancer incidence rates were stable from 1995 through 1999, while cancer death rates decreased steadily from 1993 through 1999.[1] Again, this likely reflects the combined impact of improved screening, prevention, and treatment. Nonetheless, cancer remains a major cause of illness and death, and conventional cytotoxic chemotherapy has proven unable to cure most cancers after they have metastasized. As is obvious from their origins, the above cancer chemotherapies are essentially poisons. Side-effects The treatment can be physically exhausting for the patient. Current chemotherapeutic techniques have a range of side effects mainly affecting the fast-dividing cells of the body. The most common side effects include (dependent on the agent):[citation needed] Pain, Erythema, Nausea, Diarrhea or constipation, Anemia,Malnutrition Hair loss, Memo relax...laa..red thin line...I don't talk too much I type too much...so how can I shut down.... does anyone know anything about allergiclear, all natural allergy relief. Or anything about supplements in it? AllergiClear contains the following natural ingredients: Quercitin is a well known flavonoid, usually found mostly in onions and apples and is considered to be a 'building block' for other flavonoids. Flavonoids are important and powerful anti-oxidants found in fruits, vegetables and herbs and can also reduce inflammation, boost immunity, strengthen blood vessels and improve circulation. Quercitin is known for its ability to block the release of histamine, thereby preventing allergy symptoms like swollen nasal passages, congestion, sneezing, watery eyes and itchiness in eyes and nose. Other benefits include reduced risk of heart disease, stroke and cataracts, anticancer properties and the ability to promote stable blood sugar levels. Euphrasia officinalis (Eyebright) has been used since the Middle Ages to reduce eye inflammations. It may be used topically, but is very beneficial taken internally to reduce watery, painful and itchy eyes caused by colds and allergies. Other benefits include the maintenance of good vision and eye health. Arsen Alb. C15 - a proven homeopathic remedy for a variety of conditions, including inflamed and stinging eyes, sneezing and hayfever. other benefits include improvement in eczema, headaches and general restlessness. Nat. Mur. D6 - a biochemic tissue salt which has an excellent effect in reducing and preventing runny nose, hayfever and other conditions linked to inflamed and watery mucus membranes. Other benefits include promoting feelings of well being and reducing anger and irritability. Kali Mur. D6 - a biochemic tissue salt with a wonderful soothing decongestant and anti-inflammatory effect, helping to prevent the secondary infections of allergic rhinitis (sinusitis, bronchitis and other respiratory tract infections). Regular use of Kali Mur is also beneficial in improving liver functioning, as a glandular tonic and to strengthen blood and nerve tissue.
How much antioxidants, vitamins, healthy foods, etc, do you need to consume daily for optimal effects? The sun, stress, oxidation, breathing in the air, eating, germs,..so many things add up and contribute to aging and the breakdown of the hyuman organism. So then, being that we already know how many flavonoids, anti-oxidants, polyphenols, nutritious foods, etc...can be great for reversing alot of this damage,... how much and what exactly should we be consuming daily, to reverse/prevent alot of the damage associated with aging/living life? What should we be eating and drinking, food and supplement wise, and how much of it?

Would it be safe for me to give a small dose of Garlic (2mg) to a Young Adult Cat? Hi, As the question states: "Would it be safe for me to give a small dose of Garlic (2mg) to a Young Adult Cat?" At the moment one my cat’s blood tests shows that he has Thrombocytosis. After noticing this I decided to give my cat 18¾mg of Aspirin every other day. After the next few blood blood tests, my vet was surprised for the reason why the platelet count has moderately come down since seeing last time. Before all this, the reason why I went the cat to the vets in the first place as my cat had a Liver inflammation which causes him to vomit. My other well led ‘aged’ cat died from an unknown liver problem which was not cured in time until he was put to sleep and it deeply upset me and rest of the family. Therefore, I do not wish for this to EVER happen again with my current cat. After firstly have a blood test from the vet to diagnose a liver infection, the vet prescribed my cat with Nisamox 50mg and Prednisolone 5mg. The next set of blood showed that his liver problem has worsened. As a result, I panicked and got annoyed with being ripped of from unhelpful vets; I bought a tub 60 of 50mg Milk Thistle from eBay and gave my cat 50mg of Milk Thistle a day until the next blood test. Guess what! My cats liver problem (enzymes) dramatically improved which the vets were in shock %-)! Therefore, the vet decided to wean my cat off the Antibiotics and Steroids. Now after all the blabbing, would you think is would be wise to give my cat a 2mg Garlic supplement (the one's from ASDSA) instead of the Aspirin, as I know from being Diabetic, that Garlic has anti-platelet properties aswell but also I know that Garlic is a bit toxic to cats? Please help me! Thanks You. P.S. I am in high admiration for Herbal Medication as the do, from personal experience and from above, believe that they work far better than 99.9% of drugs/prescription medications.
What can I do to lose weight? Hello, I've had a lifetime struggle with my weight. I'm 20 years old and currently around 400 pounds. Now, everyone in the free world assumes I eat nothing but greasy junk food, which I do not. I've been a strict vegetarian for seven years (Morals and health reasons), so, all I ever eat is soy, grains, nuts and seeds, fruits and vegetables. All appropriately portioned to that of someone 1/3 my size. I follow those books my mother buys for me on managing portions and calories; I've cut out all dairy products, bread and other “white” (White rice, flour, etc) foods a few years ago to clear up a skin problem, and realized I didn't miss them after the condition cleared up and just decided to keep them out for good. I cannot stand salt, or anything salty-tasting. My ankles and other extremities do not look like they're retaining water of any sort. I live way out in the country and I never get to go into town with my family to restaurants or anything like that. The only snacks I ever get are dried cherries and the occasional little cup of sugar-free cherry Jell-O. I was diagnosed with chronic depression at the age of 13, and due to the multiple anti-depressants I was put on, I gained about 150 pounds in a matter of months. Well, I've been off of my medications for many, many years and the weight stayed on. In these last few years, I've really been trying to become employed and independent from my Mother. But it always appears to be my weight that keeps me from getting the job. They always seem excited while talking on the phone with me, but the interview is always a different story. The looks of disgust are ever-present. I even once heard a guy burst out laughing with the employees once I left his office. I generally hope for desk jobs because I physically cannot stand for many hours, but I have applied everywhere in my town. Um, I don't have any medical insurance because I cannot afford it and I'm too old to be on the insurance that Mother gets from her work. My last blood tests were done in 2003, my thyroid and all that were fine. I have very low energy (from the Chronic Depression), which I try to help by taking vitamins and supplements.. Although, they don't seem to be doing squat. I just take them to make sure I don't become malnourished. I exercise on a daily basis to stop my family from teasing me. I can't do the high intensity aerobic exercise because of back and knee pain, so, I normally do a couple hours of Pilates, stationary cycling, gardening and just general walking around in the yard. Anyway, everything seems to be getting worse. I'm more and more lethargic each day, I worry that my heart or something is going to give out. My family tries to help by picking on me and telling me how awful I look to “motivate” me. All it does is make me feel even worse about myself. So, I was wondering if I'm alone on this. Or if there's anyone else who's suffered from similar conditions and somehow managed to lose weight? Thanks. I forgot to mention that I drink nearly two and a half quarts of water and eat five, small 250 calorie meals daily. Also, I haven't drank diet soda (Or regular soda, thank you very much.) in years ever since I learned that it produces formaldehyde in your liver. I don't feel hungry, ever. So I don't think I'm starving myself. I'd rather not exploit and embarrass myself on national television. I don't really care if I "tone" up. I just want to pass off as normal looking in public, I won't mind if I end up with saggy skin. I can always wear clothes to cover it.
what are good remedies for...? Migraines? I've suffered from them since age 6.... with time they've gotten worse. I HATE taking medications, specially pain killers. I've already become immune to most anti-inflammatory medications like motrin and Naproxen... and i refuse to take narcotics like Vicodin or Opiates like Percocet. I've taken them before when my migraines were ER worthy and got me a CT scan and a spinal tap... but I'm talking maybe once a year... For the last few years I've controlled them with caffeine... its the only thing that seems to help keep them at a manageable level... however, due to some new medical concerns, I've cut caffeine from my system, so my migraines are back worse than ever for now, dealing with withdrawals. Is there anything else i can do? Supplements that work? I already take a daily multivitamin and Omega3 supplements... But is there anything else out there that can help?? Any other home remedies to try?? PLEASE help me.. Cause life is unbearable right now... Thanks.. I do.. I drink a ton of water. I always have. Well over a gallon of water a day. :) and No.. i haven't tried that yet... but i'm really trying to avoid all caffeine if i can.. and i've done accupuncture and craniosacral and chiropractic and massage and all of those... I'm a massage therapist and i'm really into that kind of thing... the only problem is that my migraines are so severe that it just doesn't help... And i have no real onset of a migriane.. its just kinda always there... just sometimes its worse than other times...
Has anyone had success treating Crohn's homeopathically (For over 1 year)? I am a 25 y.o. male that has been living with Crohn's disease for 11 years. I was on Remicade for 6 years and it worked great, asymptomatic for all Crohn's symptoms during that time. Around the age of 23 I discontinued Remicade, due to high costs and no health insurance, remained on 6 MP and tried to maintain remission through natural foods and supplements. Well, my health slowly spiraled downward and I ended up going from a healthy 180 lbs. to a sickly 140 lbs. with a return of abdominal cramping/pain, reduced appetite, blood in stools, etc. I had been taking pro-biotics, natural anti-inflamatory herbs, and eating organic friuts/vegetables and only grass fed/ free range meats. I am wondering if this has actually worked for anyone? I've heard it is possible, but have never found a person that was able to remain successfully healthy without medical intervention. As for me, I am now on Humira (have health insurance again! Hurray!) 6 MP and Pentasa/ also potentially looking at a resection. Not fun, and I feel that my homeopathic trial ended up doing me more harm than good...
Stinging hair follicles and hair loss? Recently (within a half a year, or so I've noticed) I've had a thinning of my top, frontmost hairs. I'm a 19-year-old female. I will be going to the doctor soon, but would like some opinions for piece of mind. I'll give a bit of information to help: My dad is 64 with more hair than he can handle (he looks like a dandelion). My mother has always had thin hair, but not in patches..just naturally thin. I definitely have my dad's hair..his is wavy, thick and auburn (like mine) and hers is thin, blonde, and straight..so I'm really not thinking it's genetics. No female nor male in my entire family have had thinning hair at a young age. My first thought was something to do with hormones. I've had a struggle with slight premenstrual cystic acne (small nodules that wouldn't heal for 3 months) but I've since controlled it with Bactrim antibiotics. Maybe there's a correlation between my cystic acne (some say overproduction of androgens) and my hair loss? What symptoms would a female have if they overproduced androgens? My other guess was lack of nutrients..I'm a vegetarian who doesn't really eat any vegetables. I'm naturally thin, but not too thin, so I don't think it's a weight issue..but I really don't eat a balanced meal (I usually have burritos and spaghetti and ramen). I try to take supplements and drink something call a Green Drink but I'm not sure it's enough. My final idea was that it was either inflammation from dandruff (since I was young I had this, but I thought it went away..my scalp would only flake if I scraped at it and I began to think this might have been from conditioner build-up), folliculitis, or some other scalp bacterial/fungal infection. My main reason for thinking this is that the affected hair follicles sting and ache a little any time I flip my hair from one side to the other. It's really sensitive, only slightly painful, and I feel that the slightest touch could shed some hairs. Also, the other day I noticed a build-up of scaly dry skin that I had never seen before. I've been trying anti-drandruff shampoo for 4 days but I'm not sure whether this is helping. These symptoms seem indicative of an external, dermatic rather than an internal issue (such as those I listed above). Would I get this sort of tingly/irritated feeling if it was hormones/my antibiotics/malnourishment? I always thought folliculitis and infections would cause obvious flaking, sores, redness, etc... Just hoping for some input. I really hope this hair loss isn't permanent once I solve it :(. Thanks! I had bloodwork done a few months ago: -normal Thyroid hormone levels -slight Vitamin D deficiency -slightly anemic (something like a 10.9 where 11 was normal)
